MD Board Review

Prior to downloading the new iOS 6, this app was FANTASTIC! Have been using it for board review in addition to other material. Definitely would have given this 5 stars. Now the screen is stuck at the end of each quiz and wont let you back to the main menu. Have to turn my phone off. Hopefully they can update the app software to make it compatible!

Please fix!

PLEASE fix this app to make it compatible with iOS 6!!! Those of us taking November boards would appreciate it!!!

Please update!!!

This is a wonderful question bank and a great mobile resource. However since upgrading to OS 6.0 the app freezes at the end of the quiz. Please fix as soon as possible. Boards are in November. Thank you!!

Freezes after each test

Please fix!

Icy

Same as the others, freezes in iOS 6.

Freezes

The app freezes after every quiz!!!!!!

ABFM AP RVW

There are big opportunities the ABFM is not yet taking advantage of. #1. Docs using this ap want to know where their weaknesses are to study up for board exam. May I suggest the ap keep track of the missed answers, then give a diagnostic report? the diagnostic report could then be updated every time a new quiz is completed. #2. Several of the links arent compatible with IOS6. Please reward docs that embrace new technology with aps that run smoothly. #3. Why not offer CME for taking the quizzes? #4. Why not offer literature links to read up on missed answers? #5. Why arent 2013 test dates posted on the ap? Finally, the creation of the ap is appreciated. It is time for a robust application that helps doctors understand what is needed to fully prepare successfully for the board exam. Neal Mills

Not working

Like the others have said, it keeps freezing. :(

ABFM Responds

Sorry it took so long for our external contractor to make the updates to the app after IOS 6. The updated version has just been approved by Apple and is now available.

Many questions have no answers. When the final summary appears after the question is answered a wrong response such as a red X appears. Upon review of the reasoning presented it appears that the wrong answer is actually the correct answer Difficult to understand but I took a photo of this flaw to prove the same.

Great material!

Well-worded questions with thorough explanations and citations! Excellent quality material. I only wish there were a way to make use of the historical quizzes to track trends by topic, and look for statistical improvement.

Decent, but outdated

This is okay, but so many of the questions rely on outdated information. We really need the most current information for review. The areas Ive noticed the most errors - cholesterol recommendations and diabetes treatment. One could argue that the hypertension questions are based on older material too, but Im not convinced the JNC 8 guidelines are worth testing or basing treatment on.

New version

Not ios 6 compatible. Cant update or reinstall. Helpful before update.

Excellent question bank, poor UI

This app has wonderful questions with good explanations. They recently updated it to be "compatible" with iPhone 5. Its way ugly. See for yourself. This review is for the programmer not the user.

Handy App

This app is handy for exam prep during down time. Highly recommend it.

Useful, but could use a little work.

This is a fairly well designed app and is good for when you want to knock out a few practice questions while on the go. It would be much better if you could save the tests youve taken to look over later or if it would mark questions you miss so you can repeat them. Questions are similar in format and content to those on the AAFP board review. I did notice they seemed a little easier than the questions on the in service training exam, but I dont take my boards until next month, so I cant speak to how well it compares to the real thing.

Great Study Aide!

I haven’t taken the boards in 10 years, and, never on a computer! This is helping me practice the new format, which is hard for me to adjust to! I used to doodle on paper, you can’t do that on a computer format! You have to quickly read and comprehend what is being asked, I keep doing quiz after quiz and test my comprehension. Adds to my study, after I study, I do these quizzes! Thanks!!! Love it!!

Great app-just one improvement needed

This is a really useful app to use in the small bits of time we have as busy primary care docs. Love it that its only 10 questions at a time! My big suggestion though is that the ABFM then allow users to tabulate a summary of all the questions taken (and missed) by category (ie cardiology, pediatrics, ID etc) so we can further focus studying on high yield areas where we might not be as strong. That would allow us to really use these questions as an assessment tool.
